this is quite old, can we get an updated version on this guide?
Good times
YouTube is recommending this 7 years later.
Wtf, it says I am not behind in tech, but when I go ahead and get the next tech, it then gives me a +35% ahead of time punishment and says I'm 4 years ahead. Is this a bug? It feels like a bug.
In late game I always fall behind in military tech and it causes me to ragequit
Ok so I just started a full game for the first time and I thought that I had to develop loads of provinces to get the institution so I wasted a lot of monarch points developing pretty much every province like 3 times, now I’m like 2-3 techs behind and I realised how stupid I was, how do I catch up?
Every time I level up a tech it stays at -30% cost which means that I’m still way behind my meighbours
Thank you. I played 12 hours with Denmark wondering why I couldn’t annex Sweden and turns out I had never advanced my tech lolololol
HOW DO YOU WESTERNIZE???
O can’t increase my administrative tech
I created an observer world out of custom nations and even though obviously the western countries still have western ideologies, the central African nations quickly faced ahead.in tech, for example one of them got level 12 tech in everything very early on but hasn't changed yet (150 years later) so would that be down to the ai rushing tech early game and getting caught up or they just started like that
Where is technology modifiers like in EU3?
turkey is like 120 years ahead of EU tech right now.. thats why they have the best military tech ever and becoming WSP
this game is so unaccurate… muslims should have decreased cost because they had better tech since 1056 till now (Turkey perhaps)
This needs an update for 'Rights of Man', as half of the info here will no longer apply.
Thanks, very simply explained, clear and informative video. Makes getting into a game as complex as EU4 a bit easier.
Is it worth it to upgrade from eastern tech group to western at the beginning of the game?
How can I get me some arumba memorabilia? I'm talking mugs, tshirts, mouse pads, stickers, figurines, hats, posters, and those neck pillow things.

No chance to hear anything because of that loud music.
Oh a couple more tips. If you want maximum income, sink and don't make heavy ships. Just spam light ones. Heavies are obscenely expensive for early-game. Late-game, I'm not sure.
Also, don't underestimate cavalry. Expensive, but also ridiculously powerful.
Even the best managed economy can find war to be expensive, so keep an eye on finances.
Careful what you sign. The enemy might want to cede only 1 or 2 provinces, when you could get 3 or 4 by getting a higher warscore.
Oh yeah, and make sure whoever you're focused on taking over at the time is your rival. The diplomacy menu has a rivals section that looks like 3 shields in a row. You can select up to three rivals at a time. This makes any captured provinces cost 33 diplomacy points, instead of 50 and gives extra rewards for any kills you make on them.
