  1. I have Heard that there also provide jobs for foreigners whose English is good but for that sorts of job do we also need to learn Japanese language mam? Is this true?

  2. Thank you so much for posting this! I've been on a never-ending hunt to find info about getting a job/visa with a marketing background and have found that useful info on the topic is VERY hard to come by. I'm hoping to move back to Tokyo in 2022. I was an english teacher for a year in 2017. That experience alone taught me that the ALT life was personally, not sustainable for me. It's great to hear that the marketing field is very open to foreign applicants.

  3. I might actually have a chance of getting one of those special visas. I am about to finish my bachelor for business administration with a focus on hospitality, gastronomy and tourism management. All I am missing is decent japanese … though that isn´t an issue really right?! sob

  4. Yeah I am pretty sure that your english ought to be considered more than just fluent. I´ve spend a bit more than a year in the US myself and I do believe that my english is pretty good (though a bit rusty right now). Your english on the other hand is comparable to native english. Whenever I had any kind of english class in school or at the university I always hated to listen to everyone else talking because of that THICK german accent but had´nt I known that your from germany I would have assumed that your an american. Considering that most japanese speak very little english … and that they wanted you to babysit their child it shouldn´t have even come up at all ^^.

  5. I’m confuse….so I have a bachelor degree from America for marketing I speak Spanish and English and right now I’m learning Japan. How do I get any type of visa to go to Japan.

  6. Sorry but
I study now in bisness school and I am starting to learn english more because I am Arabic and also I had start learning Japanese but if I got N2 the test (test of japanese language) it will be easy to find a good job in Japan??

  7. Thanks Sam!

It was super helpful for me. I will appreciate if you consider to make a video of your " Day in life as a marketer"

My future plan is to be a "Digital Marketer in Japan". I did some research and come up with, I need to acquire:

    – Bachelor in Business Studies
    – Japanese JLPT1
    – English IELTS7 or TOEIC 800+ Score

Would you please share me your opinion!

  8. Hi Sam,

As you told in your video that you have friends in Recruitment and staffing. I have 6 years of experience in USA staffing and recruitment agency. Please guide me.
    Thanks

  10. Hmm as a UK Marketer myself for a few years with an Law degree this has been quite interesting. Thank you very much for this. Looking for a position in Japan in the next couple years hopefully. I guess the real limit is the language which I'd say I can get by considering my previous trips… just terrible at writing!

  11. Miss Bad Influence! How long is your visa actually valid? And what will happen to you when it expires? Are you going to be deported to Mordor? Or even worse, to Berlin? 😱

  12. Easier to get a job for foreigners in the fields like
    English teacher
IT, AI, Robotic, Bio, etc. (Japanese not much needed)
    Tourism marketing
    Export marketing
    Designer
    Bilingual job in any field

But IT workers are most wanted and needed desperately in Japan right now.
Rakuten is English spoken company. (Their official language at company is English)
I think some more Japanese companies decide to use English as their official language.

  13. The LinkedIn story sounds so funny to me since the first thing they taught us in university in The Netherlands is "linkedin is THE way to network and get jobs!" meanwhile you are disliked by traditional companies for it in Japan. Thanks a lot for this informative video, I think it's lovely you are doing an video series on "How to Japan" and congrats on your new job once again, hope you have a great time working there!

  14. Very interesting and informative video..
Also very impressed by your flawless English..I am pretty sure you will also become very fluent in Japanese too..
    Anyway, Gambatte!

I have a Permanent visa but it’s much easier to get than before so you should look into that as soon as possible..I think only 3 years work experience is necessary now to apply for the visa or of course marriage to a Japanese citizen for a few years would also qualify you..

  15. Do you have an example of what kind of information you put on LinkedIn or looked for in LinkedIn to get in contact/get contacted by Foreign companies in Japan? Thank you 🙂

  16. Great informative video! I've got a question, if you go there with a student visa, is it easy to change it to a work visa? Are companies open to hiring language students? I've already got my Bachelor's degree.

  17. I work in a hotel now. They are in need of foreigners now as they are afraid of they won't be able to handle the foreigner visitors when the Olympics come next year. So if someone doesn't mind not having an office job, that's an easy path as well. You need to speak proper Japanese, even keigo, but there are not as many kanji reading as you would do in a classic office job.

  18. Hi I just found your channel and I'm glad, that I did I'm actually also German and currently doing my Bachelor, before that I did a three years of apprenticeship.
I really want to work for awhile in Japan just to get the experience and I already realized that English teaching programs would be really hard as I am not native, though I'm studying in english. So having the option to go into different fields like marketing is great to know.
    Thanks for the video!

  19. Truly excellent, clear and comprehensive explanation!! I am a bit surprised that it so hard to find information of this kind, although it doesn't seem so difficult for someone who is "on site" to collect and explain . Apparently one needs instead a communication degree like Sam does 😃

  20. Samko, I will comment again. I'm hollowed out on your instagram. There are so many photos of Japan. I really like Japan. How would you like to stay in Japan forever if you like? It may be an extra thing, but people from any country are welcome, I want you to marry and live happily.
