you didn't shut it down :/
Love your videos, love you, plz cut your hair 😭
It's more akin to what you get on a custom built keyboard with QMK layers imo, you can change to a different layer that can change every key on the keyboard while pressing a modifier key
Watching people use a piano makes me wish I had 10 working fingers 😅
This guy is just awesome.
“Side note…” 😂
You should have talked about Yamah's C7 Grand pianos. they are effectively a digital player piano on a high-end grand piano.
you don't know what lazy is
I left a ‘high end’ Casio in my garage when I moved to PA. Oh well we have a 100 year old rehearsal piano anyway. Too bad it can’t sound like a harpsichord
This is going to make me listen to Ragtime intently for the next 4 weeks, isn't it?
Ayyy shout out to the ASC socks! Those are one of my favorites so far
Insert obligatory complaint about his pronunciation of "timbre" here
SOUNDS like your piano needs a firmware upgrade

The part where you play the ringtone “opening” made you look like Seth
15:01 but if the sampled sound is from an actual piano then shouldn't it include that sympathetic vibration ?
Timbre is pronounced Tamber
the most, but the second is brilliant too. I think I am just not very proficient at the chromatic slides…
There's also VSTs now like Piano V2 from Arturia which are completely built from synthesis but sound very close to real and original authentic pianos
"Which I personally find great for ragtime."
Okay, what's it sound like?

I like the homage to the Disney’s electrical parade, and the windows XP sound! Windows XP still rocks!
And I am so glad I am not the only person that likes ragtime music! My musical weakness!
1:17 Heh, that’s a joke I knew this former cast member wold make!
Lol your videos are so delightful. Between your tech enthusiasm and sarcastic sense of humor, we are kindred spirits. 🤣
The "side note" got me!
Man I wish I could've given you the Technics digital piano I had… I used to live in the NW Chicago area and had to leave it behind when I moved because it was just too big. It was amazing for a digital piano from the 90s!!
But have you seen the UI of a pipe organ…
so many smart people out there that are insanely musically gifted, but have different passions than music.
Back when I took piano as a kid, my teacher showed how you could use the pedals to get these wonderful harmonics. That is, you'd play like one or two chords, then use the pedals to allow the strings for keys you hadn't just played to vibrate–or something like that. It doesn't sound very "piano-like" at all, as the sounds weren't produced by hitting the strings with the hammers. It was entirely harmonic resonance. Does anyone know if any digital keyboards do this these days?

16:24 I'm sorry… Did you just G-note us?
WHEN I WAS
You absolutely should have gone for the weighted keys, you're too good for simple ones.
Your iPhone ringtone impression is on point!
Also, I've heard many people say "revert back", but never questioned it… You saying someone complained makes me realize that the phrase is redundant. Lol. Another thing to annoy people with if they annoy me
The Celviano in my elementary school had a similar system…but it was more clever because it had the functions written out in small text above the keys.
The second-hand Yamaha P–45 that I just bought has controls that work in much the same way (but unfortunately no una corda pedal).
Oh no… It's timbre not timber
I've been researching digital pianos to purchase lately and love your deep dives into topics, please keep this one going!
